Originally from Boulder, Colorado, and a transplant to the Mountains of West Virginia, where she has lived in the rolling hills for over 30 years. She finds inspiration for her writing in the history and culture of Appalachia and its beloved people.

I write flash and full-length essays, as well as lyric essays, about the challenges faced by women and families who choose to live and work in Appalachia. At times, the essays reflect our shared love of nature; at other times, they focus on the regional struggles families face, such as the Opioid Epidemic or food insecurity.
